Office Shogo Onodera (OSO) is an Architecture & Design office based in Tokyo. Founder, Shogo Onodera, studied architecture at Hosei University in Tokyo. In 2010, after working at several types of design offices, he joined SANAA( Architectural design firm run by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa). With over 10 years' experience as an architect, he has built a diverse design base with leadership roles for developing and executing projects around the world. In 2018, he established Office Shogo Onodera. In 2022, OSO Research was established. In collaboration with external members such as artists and academics, they are engaged in various research, projects, and expression activities to realize transitions toward the restoration of the global environment along with the development of architecture and culture.
In 2025, due to the relocation of the office, OSO RESEARCH SPACE (OSOS オソス) was established. OSOS is an experimental venue for OSO, an architectural firm, and for OSO Research, a cross-disciplinary collective.
Conceived as an “undefined void”, this space will be opened up to the public in various forms. Primarily a place for engaging with the local community, we envision it becoming a cultural focal point that transcends the realms of architecture, art, digital media, culinary arts and environmental actions. It will serve as a testbed for a place-making process centred around a cultural axis. We are concocting a diverse range of activities and a few little tricks to enable OSOS to become a thinking hub for the community.

2025年4月、設計事務所の移転を機に東京都目黒区の東横線学芸大学駅から徒歩5分の場所に 「OSO Research Space / オソリサーチスペース」を開設。OSO Researchが活動理念のひとつとして掲げる「Social Engagement / ソーシャルエンゲージメント」の実践のための場所として、大きなキッチンと白い壁があるだけの「機能のない余白」を街やコミュニティに解放する。建築設計事務所としてどのように街に関わっていく事ができるかというリサーチ・実験的な活動のための場所とする。OSOのプロジェクト展示や国内外の建築家の展示・建築に関するテーマ展をはじめ、アーティストの個展やテーマ展、食やワインのポップアップ、様々なワークショップ、個人や企業の展示会、トークショーやイベントをOSO Researchがキュレーション・開催することで、「文化的発信を軸とした街づくり＝Place-making」を試みている。

After graduating from university, Shogo Onodera gained work experience at a design firm in Tokyo. He then moved to Paris and worked as a freelancer. In 2010, he spent eight years working in architectural design as part of SANAA, led by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa. His work includes large-scale projects such as “La Samaritaine” in Paris (commercial complex produced by LVMH) and the high-rise Shanghai Financial Center, as well as the planning of a hotel on Naoshima Island in Kagawa Prefecture, and numerous other projects and competitions both in Japan and abroad. Leveraging his more than 10 years of experience, he founded OSO in 2018. He was chosen as the designer of "LIVE EARTH JOURNEY," the Signature Pavilion for the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo.
代表の小野寺匠吾は大学卒業後、国内のデザインファームで実務経験を積んだのちパリに移住。フリーランスとして活動した後、2010年より妹島和世氏と西沢立衛氏率いるSANAAの一員として、8年間建築設計に従事。パリの老舗百貨店〈ラ・サマリテーヌ〉の新築・改修プロジェクトや、高層ビルの〈上海金融センター〉といった大規模プロジェクトをはじめ、香川県直島の宿泊施設の計画やその他国内外のプロジェクト・コンペティションに多数参加。10年以上の経験を活かし、2018年に独立。Dezeen Award 2018・2024、FRAME AWARD 2019、ひろしま住まいづくりコンクール2021、DFA Design for Asia 2022などを受賞。2025年大阪・関西万博シグネチャーパビリオン「いのちめぐる冒険」設計者。

Ayaka grew up in the US, Japan and UK, and worked in London and Tokyo after graduating from University of Cambridge. Her first key design role was for the 2012 London Olympics, working on temporary stadia, pavilions and the media centre, as well as the masterplan. She then worked at SANAA in Tokyo, working across national and international projects. Back in London, she began to specialise in residential architecture, exploring local materiality and integrating sustainable design. She continued to design and deliver large developments as a Senior Architect at a cross-disciplinary firm Vabel, covering roles of design architect and project manager, whilst assisting construction management. As of 2022, she relocated to rural Kyoto to delve into re-activation of regional communities and explore place-making process, and joined the team of OSO Research.
米国·日本·英国の3カ国で育ち、ケンブリッジ大学卒業後はロンドンと東京で建築界でのキャリアを積んできた。初めてデザインで携わったのは2012年ロンドン·オリンピックで、仮設競技場とパビリオン、メディアセンターの設計から、開催中とレガシーの都市開発マスタープランに関わる。その後日本に移りSANAAでインターン。ロンドンに戻って修士号を取得してからは住宅建築を主に担当。地域のマテリアルの探求や環境的持続性を考えたデザインを積極的に取り込むようになる。そして大規模なプロジェクトを設計から施工まで管理し始め、多分野的に開発を繰り広げるVabelではシニア·アーキテクトとして、設計者とプロジェクトマネージャーの役割を担いながら施工現場監修にも関わる。食と農の未来を考えた果てに2022年に京都府京丹後市に移住し、農業インターンをしながらコミュニティハブで食堂を回し、他イベントを開催。その取り組みを基にOSO Researchにジョイン。2023年OSOに加入。2025年からOSOパートナーアーキテクト。
